Riley is One!!

Our sweet Riley turned one! It's so hard to believe a year has passed already. We started the day with birthday pancakes for breakfast...

Mia was hanging out by the birthday girl hoping for some birthday pancakes too! What a big girl now!

Ma came down to spend the day with us! She brought a present for you to open on your birthday. John was happy to help you open them.
You opened your very first purse from Ma and Grandpa and an outfit that John picked out for you all on his own. He knew how much you like pink!
We just loved how you were sitting as you opened your gifts! We wanted to do something special for your big day. Ma came down for the day and Daddy took the day off. We decided it would be fun to take the ferry from San Diego to Coronado. It was such a pretty day, though a little chilly John and you loved being on the boat. Here's a picture of our sweet family.I had to get a "touristy" picture of you guys in front of the ferry before we boarded.
Our sweet birthday girl! You loved the ocean breeze in your hair!It was a long enough ride though, that you played musical laps with Mama, Daddy and Ma.

While we were in Coronado, we had pizza for lunch. Luckily, there was also a cupcake place at the Ferry Landing too! Ma got us a mix of cupcakes to share. John was more than happy to help carry that bag!
You got your very own pink cupcake! We all sang to you before you dug in. You didn't eat a lot, just a little of the frosting.
As we were waiting for the return ferry it started raining. Not just raining, down pouring!! We were drenched when we got on the boat! We were able to get you and John undercover as we waited, but the adults were all wet. Ma, you and John sat inside for the ride.
You loved seeing the rain on the windows. John had fun blowing on it and writing in the steam.Daddy and Mama hung outside some of the time. It was really kinda nice being out in the chilly wet while we crossed the bay. Right as we reached the San Diego side, it stopped raining! It just added to the adventure.Big girl! You got to turn your seat around on your birthday too! You love seeing where we are headed instead of where we've been. That's a huge milestone!
Happy birthday our sweet Riley Theresa Mae! We love you!
