Sister Update

I had my last appointment on Thursday and things are looking great. The good news is the doctor is keeping our original due date, March 11. He said that the baby seems to be on the same growth pattern as John was and he's betting that she'll be the same size as John at birth. He was 8.1, so not huge, but a little larger than average. She's moving around well, heart rate sounded good, just another great visit overall. I'll see the doctor again next week and every week until she comes, hopefully not much earlier than the 11th :)

Too bad there are no pictures this time :(

At the Library

Mama and I have been going to storytime at the library almost every week. I really have a fun time there. I LOVE Mr. Jeremy, the librarian. I think he's so nice and I really like all the songs that he sings with us. Often when we sing the "Peanut Butter and Jelly" song, I'll go up and stand right by him. I like to pretend that I'm the teacher too. We usually meet our friends there too. I love playing together before and after storytime.

Big Boy Bed for John

John got a new bed! We're trying to make things ready for Sister and this was the next big step. He was SO excited about his new bed. When we saw it this morning, he couldn't wait to sleep in it. We headed over to Target and let him pick out some cool sheets. He chose Wall-E, of course! Ryan came over to help Louis bring the new bed in, it's pretty big. While they worked, the kids got to play together. They had a blast, as always. Once we got the mattress in, both John and Indigo didn't waste anytime jumping away. They also had a lot of fun turning the light on and off and then jumping some more.

John was very cute. He stopped jumping and went over to the crib and said he was taking his "sleeping stuff" over to the new bed. That included Goggie and Cow, of course.
Here's the room. We're still not finished with it, but this is the main layout. I want to get rid of the toy chest and get a better storage system in that place...

Here's a better view of the bed. It's a Captains Bed with drawers underneath. John thought it was cool moving his clothes down there.
A close up of the new space. The Wall-E sheets are pretty cool. Cow and Goggie look right at home in the new bed...

We thought we'd keep the crib up as a bed for a few nights in case John has a difficult time adjusting. So far, so good... I was just telling Ma how big and grown up he's looking in his little bed. Now, the new bed looks so big and he looks little again! You were right Ma :)

My Castle

I should have been in bed, but with my new bed I was just too excited! I decided to build a castle. I think it is the coolest thing I've ever seen! I even have a CD as a topper in the back. I couldn't wait to show Mama and Da!

I even brought out my little "Cat in the Hat" puppets to play the king and queen of the castle. I wanted Mama to take a picture of my creation to share with you. I sure love building with my blocks!

Odds and Ends

These didn't really fit together, but I wanted to share... My new favorite thing to draw now is kangaroos. I had a really cool one that I drew with a baby in the pouch, but I erased it when Mama went to go get the camera. I added different flair in this one, I added "kangaroo".

Mama finished the blanket she made for Sister! Yippee!! It turned out much bigger than she originally thought, but this way it can be a cozy blanket for her when she's my size. I was excited to give it a test cuddle as I played with my Legos. There sure is a lot of pink moving into my room now!

Where's the Screen?

Mama showed me a neat thing today. She called it a typewriter. The first thing I did was lift up the top and ask "Where's the computer?" Then Mama showed me how it worked and I really had a fun time with it. I told Mama that I was writing emails on it. I really liked how it sounded when it typed and I liked making the paper go up.

I guess I played with an antique today :)

Sister's New Pictures

We were all so excited to catch another glimpse of Sister today! John came too! He was pretty amazed at first seeing the little baby on the screen. He also said afterwards that he wanted to draw Sister a picture. He's going to be such a great brother!
It was so amazing seeing her again. I think this ultrasound showed her even better than the last one. The pictures don't do the experience justice. She looked so clear and so perfect! It really felt like we were able to see what she's going to look like! She had her little arms up by her face just like John did during his ultrasound. The tech showed us some hair on her head and double checked for us that she's a girl... she is :)
They are guessing that she's around 5 1/2 pounds right now. They also are estimating my due date now at February 25. She's the size of a 35 week fetus and I'm the size of a 35 week Mama. I didn't get to see my doctor today, so I don't know if he's going to officially up my due date. We had the same conversation when I was pregnant with John and we kept the original due date. Since they were acting like I was 35 weeks along today, I had my first check to see if I've started dilating (I wasn't, thank goodness!) and now we're going to see the doctor every week! Wow! This is going to come up fast! I'm so excited to meet her, but also nervous too. It was a surprise to think we may be meeting her 2 weeks early! If we are at 35 weeks, they are guessing her birth weight to be somewhere around 7 1/2 pounds.

The best news is everything they were looking for was there (or wasn't there). They said she looks healthy and I do too. It was another perfect appointment. It's always so nice to have one.

Train Ride

In November, I went on my very first train ride. I had such a great time!! Mama and Da drove me up to Oceanside were we met Ma (She took the train down from OC). We then went and had lunch at Ruby's on the pier (super good!)
We had a little wait time before our train got there, so I used the time to fill out the information on my luggage tag.

The train's almost here!!
I had such a great time!! I just loved looking out the window at all the things going by

I really hoped that the TV would work for me. Nothing better than Baby Einstein on a train ride!
I really liked the table that pulled down. I was ready a snack once I saw the table.
During a lot of the trip, I sang a train song that I made up, "Chugga, Chugga Choo Choo!" Even though it's been a few months, I still talk about this trip all the time. Whenever I see a train, I like to point it out. I'll also pretend that I'm on a train "just like with Ma!" This trip just wasn't long enough. I was sad when it was over. I'll have to take another ride really soon! Maybe Mama and Da can come along next time.

Where's the Brakes?

I decided that I wanted to ride my bike, just like Da. I started to get the idea of peddling, but it was hard to remember to steer at the same time. Da was there to help...

Here I go...

Good thing Da was there to help me brake!

Da and I decided we would just work on steering for awhile :)

I sure love playing with Da. We're a good team!

Music Time!

Hurray, school's started again! I'm taking my Tiny Tot Hip Hop class again with my very favorite teacher. I missed seeing her over the break. This time we're trying the earlier class, so we can take it with my buddy Indigo. I had a lot of fun today and it was extra fun with my friend there!

We're holding hands during "Bingo" and "Ring Around the Rosie"

Yeah! Parachute time!! My very favorite!!
I love when we get on the parachute for "Motorboat, Motorboat" This time I sat up the whole time just like my teacher asked.

I'm ready to be a motorboat!!

We're Motorboating!
Yippee!! Let's do it again!!
