Apple Picking

We had a special visitor this weekend... Brownie! I was chosen to bring him home for the weekend from my class. He came with directions, like don't get him dirty or wet. I took my responsibility very seriously. He also brought a bag with bear books and a journal that I needed to fill out. The journal tells the class what we did together. I slept with him every night and enjoyed reading books with him too. I wanted to read ALL the bear books that weekend. Ry really liked having him at the house too. It was hard sharing him sometimes.
We had planned to go apple picking last weekend, it was extra fun having Brownie there to share the adventure with. Here we are all ready to go!

Even though we were close to the orchard, we had to stop at Dudley's for some bread... yum!

I got a GIANT muffin to eat! Mama loved that I let her take so many pictures this weekend!
Silly Brownie! He didn't want to sit still in the car! I thought that was SO funny!
We got to the orchard and there were SO many apples to choose from and it wasn't too crowded either. Riley enjoyed walking around through the trees.
Even though I don't like apples, I enjoyed picking them.
Riley didn't really understand picking them, but she liked holding them and putting them in the bag.

We just had to watch her since she liked picking the yucky apples up off the ground and putting them in the bag too.
Even Brownie enjoyed picking apples!
I helped him :)

Mama's little farmers
In this picture, I'm worried about the bugs and Riley looks like she's looking for more ground apples to pick up :)

This one's OK, Daddy gave it to her to put in the bag

Riley really enjoyed this adventure

Apples, apples! who wants apples?

Riley's turn to love Brownie

We went into Julian for lunch and of course apple pie! Here I am in front on the town sign with Brownie

The pie place had a sign that Riley and I loved! We were on the swing the whole time!

I'm pretending to be asleep
Riley loves swinging!

Brownie loved the pie!
Little cutie!

The Schultz Family... I think this is the only picture Riley's not smiling in!
When we got home there was a fire a few miles away from the house. We got to see helicopter and plane drops. Daddy enjoyed watching that. I got tired of it pretty fast, but Riley stayed outside watching with Daddy for quite awhile.
What an exciting day! It's funny how going to Julian feels like going out of town. It was a fun adventure and super fun picking apples. That night we made an apple pie, Mama made the crust and Daddy peeled A LOT of apples. I didn't like it of course, but Mama, Daddy and Ry thought it was really yummy!
